Dr. Saad is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and is based in San Diego, California. Before completing his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD), Dr. Saad completed a full training in General Surgery at Yale University. His ability to please his patients lies in his excellence at blending art with science, conducting technically delicate procedures with an eye on aesthetically appealing results. Dr Saad is also an attending Plastic Surgeon at the University of California in San Diego and continues to teach residents and students the art of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Saad was born and raised in Lebanon, a country that represents a mosaic of cultural diversity. Influenced by a family of artists, poets, and traders, he developed at a young age a sense of wonder in both the empirical and abstract aspects of the world. He also built a profound appreciation of the disciplines where art and science combined to produce a beautiful creation, such as film making and music.

This union was further explored through the cultural experiences he acquired during his travels around the world. It was during those travels that Dr. Saad mastered both the Italian and Spanish languages, adding to his fluency in English, French and Arabic. The breadth of interactions he had with various cultures, individuals, environments, and landscapes drove him to channel his appreciation of the arts in a career in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Education & Background

Dr. Saad completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). After graduating as a Medical Doctor, Dr. Saad began a Post Doctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Surgery at Yale University, where he conducted basic science research with world renowned scientists and leaders in the field, which earned him several research grants and awards for his achievements. Two years later, he commenced a six year residency program in General Surgery at Yale, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He then joined the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program at UCSD, which he completed as Chief Resident after three years of training.

Dr. Saad has proven to be a prominent contributor to the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery not only as a practicing physician, but also as a distinguished researcher, author, peer reviewer, and public speaker. During his career, he has accrued multiple certifications and also contributed to a wide array of medical texts including numerous research abstracts, multiple publications by highly reputable medical journals, as well as several book chapters. He has also served as a guest speaker to an extensive list of prominent medical conferences and symposiums, which represent the depth and diversity of his knowledge and experience.

Dr. Saad believes that individuals are not easily defined or quantified, but are instead a harmonized blend of tangible and intangible qualities. Over the years, Dr. Saad’s mission transcended the need to produce a result that is technically perfect and aesthetically appealing, but one that allows his patients’ minds and souls to be in harmony with what they can tangibly see. He believes that personal aesthetics can only be obtained by respecting personal identity, treating each person as a unique case and having a detailed understanding of personal desires and backgrounds.

Dr. Saad is currently settled in San Diego, California, with his wife, Veronica, a native of Spain, and their two children, Sofia and Lionel. His family continues to support and inspire him in his personal and professional ambitions.
