Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
An arm lift is called a Brachioplasty. This surgical procedure corrects sagging of the upper arms. The patient must be realistic that there is a trade-off with the scar. Because of the way our arms move and how they are viewed from so many different angles, the scar is not easily hidden. Consider when you raise your arms above your head to reach for something, stretch them ahead for driving, bend them to scratch your back, or fold your arms in front of your chest. The shape and extent of the scar is dependent on the amount of tissue being removed. Starting under the arm pit, a long T-incision is made along the inside of the arm where it is hidden when the arm is at rest next to the body.
