Skin Peels
Skin Peels are used to improve the texture and smooth the surface of your skin. Skin peels can reduce some effects of aging, such as fine lines and rough, sun-damaged skin. When formulated with lightening agents, skin peels can also reduce age spots and other skin blemishes associated with pigmentation problems. The most common effect of skin peels is to give your skin a smoother and fresher look.
After a preliminary skin preparation program, a customized peel solution is applied to your skin by Dr. Steven Cohen or his supervised aesthetician or nurse. The peel may be repeated several times, with increasing strength, to achieve the maximum improvement. A stronger chemical, such as trichloroacetic acid (TCA) may be indicated for a deeper peel.
Skin peels are performed safely in your plastic surgeon’s office. The process begins by removing all oils, dirt and soap traces from your skin. Then the chemical is carefully applied to the appropriate areas. If you have fair skin with fine wrinkling, you are a good candidate for a chemical peel. Deep chemical peels are not recommended for people who have highly pigmented or oily complexions.
You will feel a temporary, light throbbing or burning sensation. After the peel is completed, your doctor will administer soothing ointment and provide you with instructions in daily care. Although it will not stop the aging process, skin peels can improve your appearance and increase your self-confidence.

Light Refresher Peel
Superficial exfoliation for the treatment of clogged pores and blotchy skin. Designed as a quick refresher to maintain healthy skin.
Rejuvenating Facial Peel
Little to no downtime. Customized acid treatments target your individual needs to smooth out fine lines, extinguish acne blemishes, and/or regenerate mature, sun-damaged, and sensitive skin.
Progressive Peel
A sophisticated blend of hydroxy acids, antioxidants, and tyrosinase inhibitors exfoliate lifeless cells and allow emerging new skin to absorb more oxygen and nutrients. Advanced protocols produce mild flaking to moderate peeling, for more impressive results.
Obagi Blue Peel
Unlike alpha-hydroxy peels or other superficial procedures, the Obagi Blue Peel allows us to control the depth of your peel and the number of coats applied in order to tailor the process to your skin’s specialized needs. The Obagi Blue Peel can even be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs. The peel can be repeated every 6-8 weeks for maximum results.
The Obagi Blue Peel is a quick, relatively simple and highly tolerable procedure. Application of the peel takes about 20 minutes. You will experience a burning sensation that lasts for 2-3 minutes. A bluish tint will remain on your skin until washed off within the first 12- 24 hours. Dr. Steven Cohen or one of his staff will explain the procedure in greater detail at your consultation. Recommended for most skin types.
Retin-A Peel
Ready to achieve healthier looking skin, but not ready for more invasive treatments? This will smooth lines, greatly improve uneven pigmentation while invigorating sluggish skin. The Retinoic Acid is the key ingredient in delivering the ability to change the appearance of sun-damaged skin. This modified chemical peel will exfoliate 2-4 layers of the epidermis safely with amazing results. Ideal for light to moderate skin types.
Epicuren Antiaging Facial
Your skin is nourished with herb and enzyme proteins to promote skin health, and provide a vibrant, healthy glow. Excellent for sun damaged and prematurely aged skin, as it dramatically improves the skin’s firmness, texture, and elasticity. Hand and foot massages are included in this session.
Proper home skin care will be prescribed and a purifying facial 1-2 weeks after is recommended.
To maximize the outcome and reduce hyperpigmentation, all patients are required to pre-treat their skin with a specialized prescription product 3-4 weeks prior to your peel. A facial is highly recommended 1-2 weeks following for optimum results.
