Thermage
WE ARE PROUD TO INTRODUCE THERMAGE!
Thermage uses a patented radiofrequency (RF) technology called ThermaCool. It has been cleared by the FDA for non-invasive treatment of facial wrinkles. Thermage is clinically proven to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. The incision-free procedure is fast and easy, requires no downtime and can be performed on all skin types. Immediately following Thermage, your skin should feel tighter, smoother and more youthful, with additional skin tightening over time.

How Thermage Works
Thermage is the first technique which can provide lifting and tightening of the skin with no downtime and minimal risk. The radio frequency (RF) energy uniformly heats the dermis while cooling and protecting the epidermis. Thermage is designed to cause immediate collagen contraction followed by new collagen production which occurs over a period of time. The result is skin with a more youthful appearance.
When treating the brow and forehead area, the brows can be lifted, giving the appearance of a mini-browlift. These results can be seen quickly, usually within 4 to 6 weeks. On the lower face, jowls, laugh lines, and marionette lines can be improved. Results here usually take 4-6 weeks to notice, and will continue to improve for up to 6 months. Studies show that 80% of patients see a significant improvement with a single treatment. Some patients will, however, require up to 4 Thermage treatments for the best result.
The Thermage treatment causes only a minimal amount of pinkness, lasting less than 30 minutes. Rare patients have experienced a burn. The treatments feel hot, thus you will need to put an anesthetic cream on one hour prior to the procedure or you may have the option to pre-medicate with a sedation such as a Valium. In which case you would require a driver to accompany you home after your appointment. The procedure takes from 30-60 minutes depending on the areas treated.
What is the Thermage® Procedure?
The Thermage procedure was developed to help the signs of aging skin. It is currently used for treating periorbital (around the eye) wrinkles. The procedure is also known as ThermaLift, Thermal Lifting, and Thermoplastic contouring.

Thermage Before and After Photos
What does a Thermage Procedure feel like?
Each time energy is delivered there is an immediate cool sensation, followed by a brief hot sensation, followed by a cool sensation. An anesthetic cream applied one hour before the procedure numbs the surface of the skin to help make the treatment more comfortable.
How long will the Thermage Procedure take?
Depending on the size of the area treated, the procedure itself may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.
When can I return to my normal activities?
You may return to your normal activities immediately, as there is usually no "downtime." Minimal redness is seen in some patients but it usually disappears shortly after treatment. Heat-related complications can occur but are uncommon. There is no special care needed after a Thermage treatment. As a part of good skin care, sun screen is recommended.
When will I see results?
Some patients see the results soon after the Thermage treatment, although in most patients they will appear gradually over 2 to 6 months.

How many treatments will I need?
In large clinical trials, all patients were treated in a single treatment session with good results. New studies in process are evaluating whether repeat treatments provide better, faster, more consistent results.
How long will the effects last?
Recently completed studies demonstrate continued improvements for at least 6 months after a single treatment session.
How safe is it?
It is very safe. Although this is a relatively new technology, the number of adverse effects has been small.
Collagen is a building block or foundation of the skin which supports its structure. Over time collagen becomes depleted or damaged by the sun or other environmental factors. The result is visible signs of aging such as the appearance of thinner skin or "loose" skin. After years of research and development, Thermage,® Inc. has developed a new procedure to treat the signs of aging skin.
The Thermage Procedure is a technologically advanced approach to treating aging skin. The Thermage Procedure works by heating the underlying layers of the skin with a unique radio frequency (RF) energy while protecting the skin's top layer with a cooling spray. This is accomplished with advanced safety features that monitor skin temperature and regulate treatments. The result is a procedure that is designed to:
- Cause immediate collagen contraction followed by new collagen production over a period of time resulting in a more youthful appearance
- Reduce the occurrence of adverse effects by protecting the skin
- Provide a "no downtime" procedure so you can resume normal activities immediately
