Most women having breast implants will need a breast revision surgery to place newer implants at some point in time. If there has not been an issue, implant exchange can be done at the doctor and patient’s discretion. If, however, deformities occur because of ruptured implants, contraction of the tissue around the implant (capsular contracture) or wear and tear on the breast tissues, a more comprehensive revision may be needed.
In today’s plastic surgery world, the use of fat grafting, dermal matrix substitutes, tissue rearrangement and placement of new implants are all available to address the most complex deformities. The surgeons at FACES+ have been among a small group of surgeons to pioneer these new approaches for breast revision.
